SUNY Upstate Medical University Office Assistant 1 (Stores/Mail), SG006 in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Duties include but are not limited to: receive and unload incoming freight, check paperwork for discrepancies, count, inspect for damage, and make any notations on freight bills. Bring freight into clearing area and separate parcels into appropriate locations for clearing. Pick, pack, label, and ship out supplies to both hospitals; enter data from completed pick lists into Smart Office system to decrement inventory. Enter receipts for incoming supplies. Perform moderate to heavy lifting and stand for long periods of time. Mail Room, and Stores Clerk duties as needed to include Par level filing, call down requests, Critical Station, and Kit supply assembly. Must demonstrate the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Office Assistant 1, SG006 title.

Preferred Qualifications: Work Days:

Schedule based on a 40 hour work week. Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm. Alternating weekends and holidays based on operational need. Located at the Community Campus.
