Job Summary:
Under the direction of the supervisor or licensed provider, the MOA collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team approach to deliver quality care.
MOA performs clinical and clerical support activities. Clinical & clerical duties:
- Prepare examination rooms for patients before, during and after clinics to include restocking of supplies used,
cleaning and sterilizing instruments used.
Assist providers with in office procedures.
Rooming patients, provide direct care, and or medical screening of patients which includes vitals, reviewing medications, allergies, medical and surgical history.
Maintain sufficient patient flow by coordinating and monitoring patient schedules.
Prepare and maintain patients medical record pertaining to their visit.
Schedule future testing which includes obtaining prior authorizations for any testing ordered.
Triaging phone calls.
Reviewing new patient referrals with provider and scheduling new patient appointments.
Doing all follow up appointment scheduling.
Maintaining the providers certificates and licenses.
Cross coverage with another provider at any of the locations.
Will provide other clerical and clinical as needed by the provider.
Obtain medical/surgical clearances for surgeries and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
