Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer in the wholesale distribution industry in Syracuse, New York. The role focuses on maintaining and improving our network hardware, managing system backups, and participating in disaster recovery planning. This position will also involve supporting existing systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and replace network hardware, including switches and routers

• Oversee the wireless network and configure wireless access points

• Handle Windows updates and assist with the Exchange Management console

• Ensure the maintenance of all system backups

• Manage file share permissions and network file share servers

• Play a key role in Disaster Recovery planning and execution

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate hardware/system related issues

• Proactively manage and maintain multiple systems to ensure their performance and availability

• Utilize skills in Disaster Recovery, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Exchange to perform job functions effectively

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Systems or Network Engineer.

• Proficiency in Disaster Recovery is required.

• Must have experience in Active Directory.

• Knowledge of Group Policy is essential.

• Experience with Microsoft Exchange is crucial.

• Must possess strong problem-solving skills and technical acumen.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced wholesale distribution industry.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong project management and organizational abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Must be able to work effectively in a team as well as independently.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

• Willingness to stay updated with the latest advances in technology and adapt accordingly.

• Strong commitment to maintaining professional and ethical standards at all times.
