Together we deliver systems all around the world and the markets for our products are constantly growing.Position SummaryThe Industrial Engineer Intern will support continuous improvement projects and the Manufacturing Engineering team. The individual will gather data through direct observation of operations staff and business reporting systems to assess efficiency of operations to identify areas for improvement and waste reduction. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about problem solving using manufacturing best practices and lean six-sigma methodologies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :Continuous improvement project support:Identify areas of efficiency improvement and waste reduction for potential continuous improvement projects.Assist in development of continuous improvement project problem statements, business cases / cost-benefit analyses, goals statements, and scope definitions.Perform necessary research, determine dependencies, and quantify the resources to complete projects.Participate and provide feedback in group meetings and discussions.Participate in brainstorming and problem-solving sessions using structured approach and lean methodologies.Obtain quotes and acquire materials and/or services to support project work.Create and present results to supervisor and management as required.Manufacturing engineering support:Perform time studies to develop standards for current and new processes.Drive improvements focused on material and information flow.Research best practices and labor productivity programs.Draft manufacturing layout designs.Develop a streamlined approach to determine what machined work should be done in-house vs. outsourced.Work with operations staff to develop or update visual work instructions.Perform analyses related to current manufacturing engineering projects.Qualifications and Education RequirementsEnrollment in bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering is required.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Experience with AutoCAD (or comparable tool).Understanding of lean six-sigma principals and methodologies preferred (no belt or certification is required).Employee BenefitsThis role is not benefit eligible.This role does not offer sponsorship for work authorization.Bluefors Cryocooler Technologies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
