Helio Health Inc. Finance Specialist in Syracuse, New York

Overview

To support the mission of Helio Health, the Finance Specialist provides accounting support to the Accounting Manager and finance department by supporting the fiscal data entry and reporting needs of the organization. Candidates experienced with Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), handling cash receipts and deposits are all welcome to apply!

Pay Rate:$25.00 - $28.84/hr

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all invoices for entry into accounting system, including obtaining the appropriate approval and supporting documentation for each invoice, and process in a timely manner.

  • Prepare Operating and PNA aged payables for review and approval of Vice President of Finance and Operations, CFO and/or President/CEO weekly.

  • Process, distribute and void checks on a weekly basis for Helio Health, Inc. main operating account and PNA account. This includes processing online vendor payments.

  • Maintain Purchase Order log.

  • Reconcile vendor statements monthly.

  • Reconcile Petty Cash monthly, or more often if needed.

  • Maintain Sales Tax and Gas Tax spreadsheets for quarterly submission to NYS.

  • Organize and expedite the flow of accounting information to and from other departments.

  • Maintain relationship with vendors, address issues and answer questions.

  • Maintain Accounts Payable files, both current and historical.

  • All other duties as assigned, which include but are not limited to:

  • Budget entry into accounting system

  • Maintain FTE spreadsheets monthly

  • Manage Receipt books

  • Ordering supplies for Finance

  • Process 1099s (annually)

  • Maintain Operating lease schedule

  • Backup functions for Finance and Contract Specialist

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required

  • 1-2 years of Accounts Payable or related accounting/finance experience necessary

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills

  • Knowledge of grants/non-profit funding mechanisms
