Family/School Support Specialist
Onondaga County Family Support for Student Success (FSSS)
Syracuse, New York (ONSITE)
FULLTIME, non-exempt: 40 hours
Coordinated Care Services Inc (CCSI)seeks talentedFamily/School Support Specialiststo contribute their expertise in providing essential business services to our provider organizations and customers. TheFamily/School Support Specialistsprovide short-term support to youth and their families who face significant mental health challenges.Family/School Support Specialistsassess the needs of the clients they serve, advocating for services and assisting youth and their families in accessing community and school-based services so that the student can find success. CCSI is partnering with Onondaga County Children and Family ServicesFamily Support for Student Success Program (FSSS) (https://www.ccsi.org/family-support-for-student-success/) to hireFamily/School Support Specialists.This position is employed by CCSI and works on behalf of Onondaga County Children and Family Services.
In this role, you will be
Working jointly with collaborative partners to support family-led goals and coordination of school-based services and support for youth and their families
Facilitating planned intervention and collaborative problem-solving with students, families, school personnel, and community partners
Providing goal-driven service planning, school-based assessment, planned intervention, supportive counseling, case management, and ongoing documentation
Empowering clients by using clients’ strengths and informal support networks in service delivery
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum of aBachelors in a human services-related field with 3 years of related experience and/or advanced hours or training is required. Masters is preferred.
Additional
Bi-Lingual, a plus.
The position requires a valid Class D New York State Driver's License and access to a motor vehicle insured with $300,000 liability coverage to meet the transportation requirements of the position.
