Who are we looking for?

GHD has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Industrial / Municipal Water and Wastewater Process Design Manager to join our team in Syracuse, NY! Working with our Engineering Design Organization (EDO), you'll manage and coordinate our skilled multi discipline technical team within a project to deliver design delivery documents, ensure quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, team coordination and team performance measures within the project.

We are seeking a process design skilled individual who can speak the language of disciplines, coordinate well, and help guide a project team throughout the design process.

You'll support Project Managers and Project Directors in all aspects of the project with a primary focus on organizing the technical team to complete the task, controlling the design path, solving problems, and ultimately being responsible for the design achieving the result. This role is commonly referred to as a Senior Project Engineer in the consulting engineering industry, especially on large multi-disciplinary projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Responsibility for coordination of the technical team leads of the different design disciplines
  • Carrying out projects in accordance with the policies of GHD to meet the needs of the client and comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Responsibility for executing with the support of other the technical scope of a project
  • Coordinating the preparation of a project methodology or project Work Plan as it relates to the technical scope in coordination with the Project Manager and Project Director
  • Verifying that the schedule and budget data match the progress of the professional services throughout execution of the project
  • Ensuring Team Leads are getting the resources they need to meet project objectives and completing check-ins on progress and ensuring adequate time is planned for internal processes, QA/QC, client reviews, etc.
  • Working closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to design, the choice of process and equipment and day-to-day problems
  • Complete final review of technical procurement documents in tender packages, coordinating review by GHD Legal team where required
  • Ensures that all proposed changes whether approved or not are recorded and properly filed
  • Participation in site visits, client coordination and review meetings, and assisting in the proposal development phases of a project.
What you will bring to the team:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
  • At least 7 years of technical, administrative and project experience, managing the design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects specifically for municipal/industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, facilities, or buildings
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and engineering and capital cost estimating techniques is a definite asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional Engineering License with ability to obtain in multiple states
  • Process modeling such as bio-win a plus.

Salary Range: $101,600-$152,400 based on experience.
