Consultant- Accreditation Self-study Writer and Copyeditor
This consultant is responsible for refining faculty-generated drafts into a cohesive, persuasive, and evidence-based narrative demonstrating clear institutional compliance with Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) accreditation standards. This role requires advanced expertise in accreditation processes, effective use of evidence, and persuasive academic writing tailored specifically to MSCHE expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Critically evaluate initial draft narratives provided by faculty and staff to identify weaknesses in clarity and persuasion.
Rewrite and refine content to clearly demonstrate compliance with MSCHE standards.
Strengthen the use of evidence throughout the narrative, clearly linking evidence to MSCHE criteria.
Maintain a consistent, professional voice that aligns with MSCHE expectations.
Collaborate with the self-study steering committee to ensure accuracy, coherence, and effectiveness of the final narrative.
Manage multiple drafts and revisions efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
Provide clear feedback to faculty, staff, and administrators regarding necessary improvements or additional evidence required.
Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Writing, Rhetoric, English, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated expertise in accreditation standards, preferably MSCHE.
Proven track record in persuasive, evidence-driven academic writing and editing.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams within an academic environment.

Pay Range: $44.40 - $66.60
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
