Robert Half Systems Administrator in Swanton, Ohio
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator in the aerospace industry. This position is based in SWANTON, Ohio, United States where you will be part of a team maintaining and supporting the operating system environment and various computer systems.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and support the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems, specifically working with Infor XA on an AS/400.
• Display a strong understanding of IBM i architecture, commands, and tools such as CL programming.
• Execute system maintenance tasks to promote uptime and efficient performance.
• Handle the acquisition, installation, and testing of system software upgrades and computer components.
• Configure software and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting procedures.
• Manage user roles, workflows, and troubleshoot application-specific issues within Infor XA. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Systems Administrator role.
• Proven competency in Infor XA software.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AS400 system operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with system security and data backup/recovery.
• Availability to respond to help desk requests after hours if necessary.
• Willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology.
• Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues.
• Demonstrated understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure.
• Experience in maintaining and improving IT infrastructure.
• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
