Job Summary The Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. Job Responsibilities Crane and Forklift Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts Product Knowledge: Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices Shipping and Receiving: Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed Loading Procedures: Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment Certification: Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required Education: High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Regulations Knowledge: Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight Safety and Procedures: Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures Dependability: Reliable with a strong work ethic Learning and Training: Willingness to learn new skills and train others Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
