JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 21198 POSITION: Groundskeeper, FP026, Full-time 100%, University Staff, 12-month renewable/ongoing, one vacancy POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains and landscapes lawns, planting beds, fields, and other public spaces. Inspects grounds to ensure conditions meet institutional grounds keeping standards. DUTIES: -Installs, propagates, and maintains the health of new and existing plants and landscape using a variety of vehicles and equipment. -Constructs lawn and landscaping projects including soil grading, seeding, and sodding. -Identifies and acts to remedy plant diseases and insect damage. -May monitor and apply chemicals and fertilizers as needed. -Maintains clean and clear lawns, walkways, roadways, and parking lots to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice. ADDITIONAL DUTIES SPECIFIC TO POSITION: -Operate a variety of power equipment and light vehicles. -Operate power mowers and trimmers to maintain lawns. -Operate power equipment including end loaders, pickup trucks, power brooms, snowblowers etc. to remove snow from walks, parking lots, a-and driveways. -Operate power equipment and light vehicles in spreading sand and salt on sidewalks and parking lots. -Perform daily preventative maintenance and inspections on mowers, trucks, plows, tractors, and related equipment. -Perform a variety of general labor and grounds keeping duties.
