Meta Technical Program Manager in Sunnyvale, California

Summary:

As a Technical Program Manager, your job will be figuring out what we need to do to build it and deliver it. You'll be a critical member of a multi-disciplinary team contributing to our efforts to gain a scientific understanding of haptics, human and machine perception, audio, input, optics, display technology, and translating it into the ultimate AR experience for our users.The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of Virtual and Augmented Reality requires custom LED components. The Hardware Module Display team is driving the state-of-the-art forward with breakthrough innovations in light sources, combiners, active materials, and entire display system. This role is for a critical component of display technologies.

Required Skills:

Technical Program Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Work with a cross-functional team of TPM, EE, Mechanical Engineer and optical engineers to set milestones, create integration plans and identify/address potential setbacks/risks and mitigation plans that enable the definition and execution of hardware (HW) products.

  2. Develop schedules, identify critical paths and bottlenecks and maintain execution throughout the duration of programs.

  3. Build and maintain working relationships across the Display engineering organization and Wearables HW TPM teams.

  4. Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery.

  5. Drive on-time design, development and delivery.

  6. Embed with engineering teams to manage external vendors engaged in the development of various LED packages, including managing resources, setting review processes, working with Supply Chain, Operations, and Strategic Sourcing.

  7. About 10% - 20% travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of experience as a program manager or related fields in the optics or photonics field.

  2. Bachelor’s degree or higher in optical engineering, materials science or similar field.

  3. Experience working with suppliers domestic and international.

  4. Experience with constructing work breakdown structures for development of schedules and resource planning.

  5. Experience creating clarity within complex and ambiguous situations in a highly technical setting.

Public Compensation:

$102,000/year to $157,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
