Lockheed Martin is looking for a dynamic Systems Engineer to join the Combined Orbital Operations Logistics & Resiliency (COOLR) team within the Satellite Engineering, Operations & Sustainment Support (SEOSS) program in Sunnyvale, California. This role will primarily be for Ground Controller support in the control areas but it will also include supporting infrastructure, system installation, and comprehensive team coordination.

In this role you will:

• Provide Ground Controller Support for efforts as needed

• Ability to Support Adjusted Work Hours Based on Program Needs

• Troubleshoot Windows, Linux and Unix Systems

• Support user profile creation and maintain tools

• Ensure that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, system

• Obsolescence Tracking & Support

• Following requirements, and work plans

• Support the planning, organizing, control, Integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility, and with the customer when needed

• Support the coordination of COORL System issues from a SEOSS Perspective.

• Support technical meetings standardizing processes across programs

• Support Ad hoc tasking by Program Technical Leaders

• Some SCAP and STIG Review support for Systems

• Maintain Stand Alone Programs (SAP)

o VMS

o Using Fortran 77

o Configuration Management (CM)

• Administrative Support

o Create accounts (VMS, PC, UNIX, InControl)

o Set up user permissions for folders

o Monitor and trouble shoot system problems

o Navigate on VMS

o DIGITAL Command Language (DCL – VMS)

o Understand proxy settings (VMS)

• Telemetry Processing

o Process telemetry on InControl (PC) and MTV (VMS)

o Fix missing and bad processing of Telemetry

o Oracle commands (VMS)

• Support Hardware Configuration and Deployment

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic Experience with Windows and Linux OS (Unix OS)

• Wiliness to take on new tasks - Quick learner

• Active Security+

• Must have a secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

• Bachelors Degree or combined education with Professional Experience

• Basic experience with Trouble shooting computer systems and/or applications

• Experience with Python, VBA, Perl, FORTRAN 77, PowerShell

• UNIX, Windows, VMS

• Windows/Linux troubleshooting skills

• Windows task scheduler

• Windows active directory

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications

• Familiarity with data analysis, metrics collection, and reporting

• Self-Starter with strong investigative skills and the ability to multitask

• Positive demeanor, accountable and responsible and able to work in a team-focused, dynamic environment

• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal customer relationships.

• Ability to operate and collaborate in a dynamic environment with solid time-management, being highly organized

• Interpersonal skills for reaching out & managing coordination across multiple disciplines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong critical thinking and social skills, with the ability to lead multifunctional teams, build strong relationships with team members and build consensus among peers

• Configuration Management experience

• Experience maintaining systems in compliance with DoD standards (NISPOM or RMF)

• System scripting proficiency

• Experience of Systems Engineering life cycle process and tools

• Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment

• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change

• Secret level clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI in future

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $55,300 - $106,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $63,600 - $119,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
