We are seeking an exceptional Network Engineer to join their Global Network Services (GNS) team, with a focus on Retail network infrastructure. This is a technical, hands-on role in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The successful candidate will have a mixture of technical know-how as well as an excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.

Description

You will be responsible for growing and supporting Apple’s rapidly expanding retail network globally. They will need to excel in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and not only lead their own projects, but also be able to provide day to day operational support. This person must be a collaborative standout colleague that will work across multi-functional groups and have the ability and willingness to mentor others and have a sound business approach for supporting our global footprint. We are looking for an outstanding Network Engineer to participate in projects and perform support activities including, but not limited to: - Solve WiFi, LAN and WAN issues - Diagnose and identify root causes of network issues - Maintain consistency (code, platforms, configuration) across the global fleet - Schedule and implement change requests - Coordinate and work with vendors to resolve incidents - Work closely with multi-functional teams in the development of networking standards to meet the business needs - Ensure Operational Excellence across our infrastructure - Build and configure network equipment to support the growth of the global team - Ensure project documentation is complete, shared, and updated on a periodic basis - Participate in the on-call rotation THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: - Is enthusiastic to develop solutions to exciting problems rarely seen in smaller environments. - Has a driving passion to improve existing processes and systems. - Independently identifies problem areas and crafts elegant solutions. - Demonstrates excellent analytical and problem resolution skills - Has good communication and documentation skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years industry experience in the field of networking

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP (both IPv4/IPv6)

  • Experience with BGP and Internet Routing Policies

  • Experience with standard Linux utilities and programs (grep, sed, awk, sort, traceroute, tcpdump, etc)

  • Experience building automation workflows

  • General understanding of PCI and SOX standards and compliance

  • Experience testing and provisioning of WAN circuits (POTS, Metro Ethernet, DS3/E3, wavelengths, etc)

  • This position requires 24x7 on-call availability for several weeks a year. Some change requests will require working outside of business hours.

  • 8+ years industry experience in the field of networking

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP (both IPv4/IPv6)

  • Deep expertise of:

    • TCP/IP (both IPv4/IPv6)
    • Cisco IOS/NX-OS and JUNOS
    • Cisco Wireless Controllers
    • Juniper SRX firewalls and MX routers
    • Cisco Catalyst and Juniper EX switches
    • VPN technologies, including IPSec, 3DES, AES, IKE, DMVPN
  • Automation experience through scripting (Ansible Python, Perl, Ruby, awk or shell)

  • Good understanding of PCI and SOX standards and compliance

  • CCIE Routing/Switching/Wireless is preferred

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
