Google Power Lead, AC/DC and Power System Engineer in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience working in a power system design technical environment, or 7 years of experience with an advanced degree.

  • 5 years of experience in technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in data center power system design and microgrid design.

  • Experience in leading new power system development that might include AC/DC rectifiers, solar inverters, UPS and variable speed drive, with an understanding of power electronics fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of power converter modeling and simulation.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional project teams and delivering executive level briefing.

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, coupled with a well-focused attention to detail.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Innovate and design on next generation rack and data center power conversion specifications and solutions. Analyze performance, cost, reliability, and availability trade-offs.

  • Lead high power projects that involve new technologies or new uses of multiple existing technologies, for leading edge ML/AI applications.

  • Partner with power industry leaders to lead the evaluation and adoption of the most compelling cutting edge technologies.

  • Engage cross-functionally to ensure successful roll-out, testing, and complete validation.

  • Provide technical leadership and direction while troubleshooting complex system level power delivery issues.
