We are searching for a dedicated engineer with 10+/- years of experience to join our exciting team of innovators. In this role, you will be a key member of the system engineering team working on modem systems features and requirements.

Description

  • Design and simulate state-of-the-art physical layer wireless communication algorithms. - Conducting innovative design for advanced demodulation and channel coding methods with focus intellectual property development. - Implement system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development. - Designing baseband algorithms for cellular modems, with emphasis on channel coding, including emerging trends in machine learning and advanced demodulation and channel coding methods. - Collaborate with hardware digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area-efficient implementation. - Conducting simulations in C/C++/MATLAB and optimizing algorithms for mobile devices. - Supporting commercialization and collaborating with other SW/HW engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS and 3+ years of relevant experience is required.

  • Worked as part of SoC or modem team.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (linear algebra, random processes, detection and estimation, and coding theory).

  • Strong background in wireless communications research preferably with information-theoretic background and coding theory.

  • Deep-knowledge of communication system theory, estimation theory, forward-error correction (FEC), machine learning models for communications.

  • Knowledge of cellular communication standards: 5G-NR, 4G-LTE.

  • Experience with Matlab/C, design flow, algorithm development, link-level simulation (floating-point and fixed-point.

  • Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science plus 5 years of experience is preferred.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
