The position is based out of Sunnyvale, San Francisco.  New York CIty, or Chicago.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

The Chief of Staff will be a key partner to the VP of Member & Customer Success (MCS) and the MCS leadership team. This role will focus on helping to define operating priorities, drive organizational efficiencies, manage rhythm of business activities, and deliver strategic initiatives to help the MCS organization achieve its business goals. The Chief of Staff will also play an important role, assisting with internal communications, team & talent initiatives, driving cross-group collaboration and accountability, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and key business partners within MCS and across LinkedIn. The Chief of Staff will also manage a team of 4-5 individual contributors who are dedicated program managers to other VP members of the MCS leadership team.

This role requires a balance of people management, leadership, influence, business acumen, and the technical know-how to support the broader strategic and operational needs of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Both individually and as a team, Manage the portfolio of strategic priorities and initiatives that have broad impact across MCS

  • Serve as a key advisor to the VP of MCS, helping to organize and drive forward projects relating to MCS strategy, operations, and team & talent that will help MCS achieve greater business impact and scale as part of LinkedIn’s continued growth.

  • Manage 4-5 high-performing ICs who are dedicated Program Mangers to senior members (VPs) of the MCS LT.

  • Both individually and as a team, partner with the VP of MCS, MCS LT, and various cross-functional stakeholders across the Global Business Organization (GBO), Product & Engineering, Marketing and other teams to define and execute on near-term and longer-term global strategy and priorities.

  • Work closely with Finance and Operations partners on the overall MCS finance and resource planning process, including financial planning and execution, cost management, and workforce planning.

  • Partner with our internal communications team to define and help execute our MCS internal communications strategy, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely communication across the organization.

  • Partner with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition to maximize impact across a variety of dimensions, including culture, recruiting, org health, etc.

  • Help define effective business insights, reporting, and analytics that help drive MCS and provide executive-level insights to our stakeholders to ensure we are moving the business forward.

  • Collaboratively work as part of cross-functional teams to effectively coordinate the complex interdependencies these initiatives require while continually taking into account fit with company priorities.

  • Define, drive and improve processes around recurring “rhythm of the business” initiatives: staff meetings, quarterly leadership offsites, strategic planning, budgeting, people agenda, and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years people management experience

  • 5+ years of experience in technology internet industries

  • 5+ years in management consulting, strategy & operations, customer success, sales, marketing, or other customer-facing functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven people manager, driving impactful programs, and fostering professional growth through career coaching, performance management, and annual reviews.

  • Proven track record of leading and driving program management for large, cross-functional, strategic enterprise-wide programs

  • Strong ability to prioritize work, both individually and for a team, in a rapidly changing environment and synthesize information from large amounts of data and in ambiguous situations

  • Proven track record of developing effective partnerships across disparate groups and functions

  • Proven ability to work closely with and influence senior leaders

  • Excellent written/spoken communication and interpersonal skills, and an excellent team player

  • A self-driven, results-oriented individual who has a strong attention to detail and can manage multiple simultaneous workstreams

  • Leads and manages people with integrity and manages confidentiality without exception.

  • Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, G-sheets

  • Finance experience, including financial planning & cost management

  • Experience with change management

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.The pay range for this role is $134,000 to $218,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
