Job Summary

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with senior management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

  • Conduct or assist in recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees.

  • Manage onboarding processes for new hires, including orientation and training.

  • Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.

  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.

  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals.

  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of HR experience.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS software.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SPHR certification.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

  • Needs to be comfortable in a manufacturing environment. Success in this role requires getting on your feet and building trust with the workforce.
