JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Manufacturing Area Manager will head up operations for designated production areas. You are responsible for hiring, managing, and developing team members to achieve required performance in your areas. Responsibilities also include managing the workflow for the production area and ensuring efficiency during the process. To do so requires effective communicate with other Area Managers and departments within the company. Onboard, train and develop employees in your area, cross-train for key roles and equipment. Identify, promote and coach production Leads. Work with company leadership to understand long-term demand and plan labor accordingly. Create a positive working environment where employees are excited to come to work, know what is expected of them, and are engaged. Lead the daily management activities in your area. Use visual management / KPI boards to clearly communicate priorities for the day, overall performance levels of the cell / team, and document open issues. Manage the daily issues facing the area - staffing, materials, machine downtime, etc and work to minimize the impact on production and/or take countermeasures to recover lost output. Execute the production schedule to deliver high schedule adherence that results in strong service and high on time delivery to our customers. Collaborate with scheduling to sequence jobs and load your areas to allow for optimal thruput and efficiency. Responsible for the standard work, training, and performance that results in high quality product that is made by your team to specification on the first pass. Identify areas for improvement and work with other support teams to address root causes, identify solutions, and drive long-term improvement in all aspects of your operations. Utilize Lean Manufacturing technique such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, QRM (Quick Response Manufacturing) or others to achieve improvement and results. Support your team to operate & inspect company assets in your areas, perform required preventative maintenance and schedule any required maintenance as needed. Commit to personal continuous growth & development by participating in training provided, acquire current and up-to-date industry knowledge, and maintain any recommended certifications relevant to the role.
