Description
We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our client's established team in Sumter, South Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of financial accounting, including monthly financial closing, journal entries, financial reporting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications
• Maintain precise records of customer credit
• Proactively monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions
• Prepare analyses based on volume produced and its impact on absorption from the mix of manufactured products
• Generate weekly financial reports and KPI’s to measure financial performance related to use and consumption of materials, labor cost efficiency, and overhead spending
• Coordinate and perform annual physical inventories
• Inspect and validate cycle counting processes and track inventory adjustments
• Perform account reconciliations for inventory, accruals, and all related plant ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets as they relate to the plant
• Play a crucial role in the Plant’s annual cost-roll to establish yearly standards
• Assist in monthly meetings with Americas Cost area
• Validate material structures (BOM) and standard times (routing) of products with highest demand
• Participate in validations of cost-saving projects proposed by different areas.
Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of detail oriented experience in an accounting role.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation is necessary.
• Experience in balance sheet reconciliation is required.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations is expected.
• Strong understanding of general ledger operations.
• Ability to prepare and manage journal entries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.
• Experience with month-end close procedures.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP software.
