Eaton Corporation Facilities Technicians in Sumter, South Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Facilities Technicians. The working schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday and hours are 6:00am-2:30pm.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Perform facilities maintenance projects such as painting walls, floors, ceilings, and equipment. Flexible work hours will required to minimize disruption to plant production goals. Painting is the primary function of this role, but also some assembling, installing, and moving equipment, demolition and construction for facility changes, minor troubleshooting and repair of lighting, plumbing, ventilation, and security systems.

In this function:

• Lead project to clean and repaint the entire Sumter facility to include walls, floors, ceilings, rafters, and plant equipment.

• Understand and follow personnel safety and environmental protection rules.

• Help establish new standards for facility material conditions.

• Follow appropriate safety procedures to work in elevated and otherwise difficult to reach locations.

• Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of paint and associated solvents.

• Solve problems and implement solutions for unusual and non-routine challenges.

• Read and follow procedures and instructions.

• Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.

• Keep work areas clean and organized per 5S standards.

• Assist repairs with lighting, plumbing, ventilation, security, and other systems.

• Repair or replace damaged racks, barriers, doors, walls, flooring, and equipment.

Qualifications:

Basis (Required):

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 3 years of professional painting experience.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficient using basic hand tools and power tools.

• Ability to obtain and maintain qualification to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts.

• Ability to obtain and maintain qualification for Lock-out/Tag-out, elevated work, confined space work, and hot work.

Preferred:

• Computer literate.

• Some experience with assembly requiring drawings or diagrams.

• Self-motivated, able to work without direct supervision

• Conscientious and dedicated to producing high-quality work

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support customer and manufacturing requirements.

• Strong communication skills and analytical problem solving skills.

• Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
