Job postings will include a wide salary range, with each role's pay falling within that range. The starting salary is based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions.

The Field Service Technician - Diesel is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner in a Xylem Service Center, Customer job site or via phone.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.

Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems and pump problems.

Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.

Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.

Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.

Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment.

Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.

Assist customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed. Assist in the performance of start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved.

Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications : Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

Diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

General diesel engine component location and identification

Basic mechanical aptitude

Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Ability to obtain DOT Medical card

Commercial Driver License B - Preferred

Diagnosing basic mechanical problems

General DC electric and circuit testing skills

Safety practices and procedures

Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues--preferred.

Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.

DAY IN THE LIFE : the working environment may be frequently outdoors, weather extremities, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, etc. and the physical demands may include but not limited to {regularly sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. In addition, this role may require frequent travel to customer sites and on-call as a regular part of the job.

Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours.

SALARY : The estimated salary range for this position is $26/hr. - $34/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. Salary range:

$45,000.00 - $72,000.00
