West Virginia Employer Fleet Mechanic in Summersville, West Virginia
Overhaul and rebuild: Disassembling and reassembling major engine components for complete overhauls when necessary. Electrical system maintenance: Troubleshooting and repairing electrical components like starter motors, alternators, wiring harnesses, and electrical control modules. Hydraulic system maintenance: Inspecting and repairing hydraulic lines, pumps, and cylinders. Alignment checks: Adjusting wheel alignment to ensure proper tire wear and vehicle handling Documentation and reporting: Maintaining detailed records of repairs, parts used, and work orders. Compliance with safety regulations: Adhering to safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area Required Qualifications: Technical knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of diesel engine mechanics, heavy-duty truck systems, and electrical principles. Diagnostic skills: Ability to use diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical problems Hand and power tool proficiency: Skilled use of various hand tools, wrenches, power tools, and specialized equipment Physical ability: Capability to lift heavy parts, work in tight spaces, and stand for extended periods Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and find effective solutions Communication skills: Clear communication with management regarding repair needs and updates Must have minimum tool requirement. Must have a valid drivers license. Valid CDL A is highly preferred.
