CONTROLLER AT PRIMEFLIGHT

The Controller oversees the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP and IFRS. This role manages month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, and coordinates audits. Additionally, the Controller supervises the accounting team, maintains internal controls, drives process improvements, and handles special projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct accounting processes and functions, including the timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions

  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and review financial results, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries for compliance with US GAAP and IFRS

  • Coordinate and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors

  • Research and write accounting memos, as needed

  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity, compliance reports, and other reports as requested by management

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting staff, providing guidance and support

  • Responsible for the design and maintenance of effective internal controls

  • Develop and implement process improvements/make recommendations

  • Complete special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed

  • May be assigned other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Ability to work in office, onsite, Monday-Friday

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • Active CPA required

  • 10+ years of successful accounting experience with a proven track record of success

  • 5+ years of experience in a related role e.g., Assistant Controller, Controller position

  • Public Accounting experience a plus

  • A strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS with the capability of applying in a practical manner

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Current on best practices, compliance, and ethical business practices

  • Able to act independently, exercising independent decision-making and fulfilling responsibilities with minimal supervision

  • Excellent teamwork skills, ability to deal with others in a professional manner

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

  • Intermediate/Highly proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus (unless required, list as required)

  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means

  • Pass a background check and drug screen

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations
