Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking an experienced and skilled Tier 3 Cyber Security Systems Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. This position supports a unique Joint Staff capability supporting the installation, integration, testing, evaluation, and synchronization of simulations and gaming tools used in future immersive training capabilities for Joint Training Exercises and Experiments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cybersecurity, with a primary focus on the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS), and Antivirus Software Suites. The candidate will play a critical role in developing, administering, troubleshooting, and monitoring security configurations to maintain the security posture and compliance requirements of Joint Environments.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities of the Tier 3 Cyber Security System Analyst will include, but not limited to:

  • Develop and Administer Security Configurations:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security configurations utilizing ACAS and ESS tools to ensure robust protection of the enterprise environment.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant security policies, guidelines, and standards.

  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Security Systems:

  • Continuously monitor security configurations via ACAS and ESS tools to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to ACAS, ESS, and Antivirus Software Suites.

  • Ensure Compliance and Security Posture:

  • Maintain and enhance the security posture of Joint Environments by conducting regular compliance assessments using ACAS.

  • Address any identified vulnerabilities and ensure all systems are compliant with DoD and organizational security requirements.

  • Endpoint Security Management:

  • Manage and optimize Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) to provide comprehensive protection across all endpoints.

  • Coordinate with other IT and security teams to integrate endpoint security with broader cybersecurity strategies.

  • Antivirus Software Management:

  • Deploy, manage, and update Antivirus Software Suites across the network, ensuring all systems are protected against known threats.

  • Monitor antivirus alerts and take appropriate actions to mitigate threats.

  • Incident Response:

  • Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for security incidents, providing expert analysis and resolution.

  • Collaborate with other cybersecurity professionals to investigate and respond to advanced threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Document and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, procedures, and incident response activities.

  • Generate and analyze reports from ACAS, ESS, and Antivirus tools to provide insights into the security posture and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Training and Mentoring:

  • Provide guidance and training to junior security administrators and other IT staff on ACAS, ESS, and general cybersecurity best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on ACAS, ESS, and Antivirus Software Suites. Note: Additional experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirements. (Combined total of minimum of 11 years between education and relevant experience).

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing security configurations in complex environments.

  • Strong understanding of DoD security compliance requirements and frameworks.

  • Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Must have an Operating System (OS) Training Certificate or Certifications such as any Microsoft Windows, Linux, MacOs, Unix, or VMware.

  • Specific certifications in ACAS, ESS, or related tools are highly desirable.

  • US Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualification to include Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in administering ACAS (Nessus/Tenable), ESS, and various Antivirus Software Suites.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues.

  • Knowledge of Modeling and Simulations Systems used by DoD.

  • Military background and understanding of Military Training Objectives.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and projects.

Salary Range: $121,000 - $181,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
