Akima Sr. Project Control Analyst in Suffolk, Virginia
ASE is looking for a Sr. Project Control Analyst to work in Suffolk, VA. Provides Project Controls Support to the project manager for multiple mid-size projects. Responsibilities
Assist Project Manager in all duties related to financial and performance, planning, tracking, and reporting.
Aggregate, analyze, and report on monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
Review and communicate labor utilization across the organization.
Primary POC for data calls, analysis, and issues.
Quality Assurance of project controls activities.
Handles activities for monthly, quarterly, and yearly close to ensure compliance with policies and deadlines.
Budgeting and financial analysis:
Develops baseline and working budgets.
Develops Estimates at Completion with the Program Manager and what if scenarios to maximize profitability.
Monitors project actuals, identifies, communicates and resolves issues.
Monitors outstanding project commitments.
Calculates accruals consistent with the month-end close deadlines and provides to Finance for entry.
Develops and communicates monthly financial forecasts and conducts variance analysis.
Analyze project reports to identify, resolve and communicate issues.
Initiate & monitor project setup (PSFs) within financial and project management systems.
Oversee project closeout activities.
Proactively monitor project timecards to identify and correct errors prior to submission, if timecard errors are processed, ensures timecard corrections are processed in timely manner.
Ensure accuracy of project-related expense reports and ensure timely processing.
Earned value calculations and analysis for projects, if required.
Project A/R and A/P:
Ensure subcontract/vendor payments are processed in timely fashion.
Provide customer specific invoice backup, where needed.
Monitor billing and payment status of customer invoices.
Ensures incorrect charges are put on hold and subsequently corrected.
Performs unbilled and accrual calculations.
Assists PM with invoice collection.
Track contractual obligations and deliverables.
Review purchase request documentation for adherence and consistency.
Assist project team with:
Identifying and analyzing project risk.
Development and execution of internal and external project reviews.
Schedule updates, analysis, and reporting.
Initiating and receiving Purchase Orders.
Generation and analysis of financial reports.
Communicating timecard and expense practices for the project.
Contracts:
Review and analyze contract, subcontracts, and agreements to ensure project setup is accurate and meets internal and external reporting requirements.
Assistance with pricing extensions and new bids when needed.
Develop funding notifications (e.g., 75% letters).
Conducts variance analysis and identify risks to schedule, cost, and performance baseline.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to stakeholders.
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
