RESPONSIBILITIES:

The person in this position is responsible for all activities associated with plant safety and security at the facility.

• Manages the Suffolk plant safety programs to ensure compliance with Hormel Foods Corporate Safety Policies and OSHA standards.

• Coordinates the safety training of all Suffolk plant team members with assistance from Human Resources Coordinator.

• Ensures the proper reporting and treatment of work related injuries and illnesses. (OSHA & BSL Logs)

• Maintains an aggressive and timely system of workers compensation and medical management.

• Co-chair the Suffolk Plant Safety Committee.

• Manages the Suffolk plant security program as well as the 3 rd party security team.

• Cross trains with Human Resources and performs those duties when requested.

• Maintains positive company employee labor relations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent safety manufacturing experience.

• Successful salaried experience demonstrating management of safety programs with preference in a manufacturing environment.

• A strong pattern of initiative and achievement.

• Highly developed interpersonal skills, including leadership and persuasion.

• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.

• Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
