WHAT YOU’LL DO

Keeping our plant clean and free from contamination is your focus – and it’s so important! The Sanitation role ensures that assigned areas are properly cleaned using approved cleaning and sanitizing processes. You will be responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing our plant efficiently (during relatively short time periods between the plant’s normal production shifts.) You will clean and sanitize processing and production equipment and these areas of the plant to meet our sanitation standards. We will ensure you have a master cleaning schedule/checklist and you are trained on standard operating procedures so that you can confidently and efficiently perform your duties and maintain food safety standards. You’ll also work with the maintenance team to ensure your cleaning schedule will align to when they work on the equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Thorough working knowledge of the following equipment on 8 oz. lines: sterilizers, can dryers, elevators, conveyors, chlorinators, power washers, seam saws, seam projectors and seam strippers. Responsible for boil out of sterilizer equipment, washing of sterilizer infeed and discharge tracks and washing can dryer. Involves the ability to trouble shoot on-line situations and compliance to all applicable GMP and Quality documents.

  • ​Perform document required quality checks, maintain clean and orderly work stations and perform routine PM’s. Meet all safety and housekeeping requirements and perform other miscellaneous duties such as handstacking, cleaning, inspection, etc., as needed.

  • Startup and shutdown of sterilizer equipment. Maintain cooler water additives.

  • Maintain proper chlorine levels

  • Ensure proper operating parameters of equipment. Check sediment of sterilized product

  • Double seam evaluation, completing 15 minute sterilizer rounds, sediment and chlorine checks.

  • Recording can loss and organization of work order form

  • Cleaning of sterilizer infeed and discharge tracks, can dryer, and boil out sterilizer system

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Prior job experience within plant will support 6 months OJT

  • Prior to this job: Filler operator, Packaging Equipment Operator

  • All GMP’s. OJT with line Utility/Sterilizer Operator; review of all documentation and quality guidelines with Front Line Leader

The base pay for this position is $18.65 – $37.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
