Procurement Commodity Manager This role is assigned as the procurement leader for certain material categories and as the initiator to identify new sourcing opportunities while developing suppliers. Responsibilities may include working with global procurement personnel and business leaders to achieve business goals and objectives, developing and implementing purchasing strategies, selecting and developing suppliers, negotiating supply contracts, and managing the overall relationship with suppliers. Responsibilities Develops purchasing strategies for the assigned categories to support the company achieving business goals and objectives Partners with Quality to drive accurate and up-to-date material specifications Conducts supplier visits to evaluate performance, develop suppliers, and maintain constructive business relationships Leads supplier qualification efforts across functions Partners with Engineering and Operations to drive accurate and up-to-date scope of work Conducts market analysis and builds industry network to provide intelligence and insights to the business Manages the suppliers, which includes selecting and evaluating suppliers, establishing contracts and pricing, supplier scorecards, and monitoring supplier performance Ensures availability of materials supply from suppliers; establishes dual sourcing for key commodities where opportunity exists Collaborates with business team and technology team, and provides support from purchasing in developing new products and innovation to grow market segments Provides solutions to the businesses they support by establishing credibility and trust with business partners and with external suppliers Proactively identifies opportunities and demonstrates a bias towards action in response to issues as they occur Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, able to deliverable favorable commercial terms Knowledgeable about current and future material commodities and market trends as well as continuously learns about the business requirements Embraces companies core values and beliefs, and employs them daily in interactions within and outside the organization Demonstrates good judgment incorporating risk management to create both immediate and long-term value Achieves results in a manner consistent with company's core values and beliefs Makes sound decisions utilizing data analytics Work closely with other departments, able to collaborate and influence key decision makers Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field required Minimum of 5 years of experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience in MRP/ERP systems required, SAP experience preferred Previous experience working as Commodity Manager or Supplier Quality Engineer Experience with strategic sourcing Experience with supplier development Experience with developing & implementing commodity procurement str
