Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuroscience, psychology, or related field. Basic behavioral lab skills such handling, and husbandry of mice/rats. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures, and/or using special methods for data collation and interpretation. Skills in data analysis in excel and basic understanding of statistics. Proficiency with coding in Python or other programming languages.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuroscience, or related field. At least one year of full-time research after graduation. Proficiency in Python programming. Experience with handling and working with non-human primates. Experience in the use of western blotting techniques, including sample preparation, gel electrophoresis, and immunoblotting. Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as PCR, DNA extraction, and cell culture. Experience may include stereotactic surgeries, drug administration methods, behavioral paradigms, and/or histology.Brief Description of Duties:
Maintain mouse breeding colonies, manage purchasing and receiving of supplies, keep detailed records of inventory, spending, mouse colony, SOPs/protocols, and organization of reagents, set up and maintain laboratory equipment, contribute intellectually and experimentally to laboratory projects, with the ability to lead your own projects, if desired.

Assist graduate students, technicians, and postdoctoral fellows with experimental and analytical components of their projects, train new lab members, and ensure compliance with IACUC, IBC, EH&S and other administrative protocols.

The successful incumbent will have outstanding interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Also essential for this role is the ability to demonstrate professional competence in research activities. The incumbent must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The incumbent must be skilled at sharing ideas clearly, both in writing and through speech.

Duties:

  • Animal colony maintenance (including genotyping etc.)
  • Manage purchasing and receiving of supplies, keep detailed records of inventory, spending, SOPs/protocols, IACUC, IBC, EH&S and other administrative protocols.
  • Histology, microscopy, and other assigned experiments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
