The Research Foundation for The State University of New York at Stony Brook Postdoctoral Associate in Stony Brook, New York
Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
PhD in Theoretical Nuclear Physics or foreign equivalent degree in hand by April 2025. Background in lattice QCD calculations, specifically in hadron structure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in large-scale calculations with standard lattice software (Chroma/Qlua/Grid). Track record of research related to fundamental symmetries and chiral perturbation theory.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Sergey Syristyn in the department of Physics and Astronomy. The Stony Brook Nuclear Theory Group is ranked among the best in the country.The research at CNT is focused on QCD at finite temperature, density, and high energy; hadron and nuclear structure; many-body theory; and the interface of quantum information science and nuclear physics. Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research in theoretical nuclear physics. Emphasis on QCD at finite temperature, density, and high energy; hadron and nuclear structure; many body theory; and the interface of quantum information science.
- Work with graduate students for collaborative research.
- Carry out analytical and numerical computations.
- Participate in Nuclear theory and phenomenology discussions and seminars.
- Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.
