Description We are in search of a Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team located in Stockton, California. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in managing and processing customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and handling customer inquiries within the healthcare industry. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle and process patient billing in a clinic or hospital setting

• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 (9) CM, and CPT coding rules to ensure accurate billing

• Maintain and update electronic health records and practice management systems

• Use Medi-Cal, Basic Medical Terminology, and Medical Billing skills to perform job duties effectively

• Provide excellent customer service by resolving patient inquiries related to billing

• Process and file documentation accurately and efficiently

• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operation of billing processes

• Utilize 10-key skills and a typing speed of at least 25 wpm for data entry tasks

• Ensure billing practices adhere to clinic policies and procedures

• Communicate effectively in both verbal and written format. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in medical billing

• Proficiency in using Medi-Cal and other related medical billing software

• Comprehensive knowledge of basic medical terminology

• Familiarity with healthcare regulations, especially those related to medical billing

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative in previous roles

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in Medical Billing is preferred.
