This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Stockton, California region. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will be essential for this role, and a creative type who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. How you will make an impact
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Experience with financial reporting
Sage 100 experience required
Solid understanding of CPA
Deep understanding of Sage 300
Foundational knowledge in QuickBooks
Adeptness in month end closings
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
CPA/MBA preferred
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
