ASM Global Assistant Food & Beverage Manager in Stockton, California

Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager for ASM Global/SAVOR. Responsible for assisting in managing concessions and leading the teams at the facilities by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises concessions employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments, including maintaining superior customer service, proper cash handling procedures, and sanitation standards.

  • Responsible for the training of concessions staff to ensure consistent high quality of product and services for the patrons.

  • Responsible for the preparation, planning and coordinating of the product, service, and staff for each event requiring concessions.

  • Assigns concession workers to locations and ensures that they are fit for duty and have the tools they need to perform their job. Also, will assist the suites and catering when at all possible

  • Tabulates receipts and balances stands and related accounts.

  • Inventories supplies on hand at end of each day or designated period.

  • Works within guidelines to maintain food and labor costs.

  • Responsible for the completion of the stand financial documentation of each event.

  • Ensures that all staff assignments are completed during their shift through frequent inspections.

  • Enforces safety regulations including proper use of chemicals in accordance with MSDS.

  • Responsible for department administrative functions utilizing computer skills.

  • Maintains working relationship with vendors and outside sources.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises all part-time employees in Food & Beverage. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM GLOBAL's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • 2 years related experience and/or training

  • Previous management experience in a similar venue preferred

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to successfully lead and develop others independently and with good judgment

  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Skills should include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient In Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

  • Knowledge of a Bypass POS system

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Alcohol Awareness Certification

  • Manager Food Handlers Certification

  • Must be able to pass a background check

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holiday shifts

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events. In addition, the position may include but is not limited to:

  • Position requires walking and standing regularly

  • Daily lifting and carrying up to 20-50 lbs. up to 10 minutes at a time

  • Constant reaching, standing, walking, and stooping

  • Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • Must be able to balance and have good manual dexterity

Compensation

The salary range is $66,560 - $67,600 dependent on experience.
