JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21152 JOB TITLE: Lecturer - Humanities UW System/TTC Title and Code: Lecturer (TL020) Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point department of Philosophy and Religious Studies houses 3 majors and is staffed with 6 tenure-track faculty and 1 academic staff member. The department prides itself with providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in a wide range of career paths: law, higher education leadership, environmental advocacy, human services, and ministry, to name just a few. The study of philosophy and religion equips students to think logically and critically, deal with ethical questions and communicate effectively across cultural, religious, and ideological divides. Graduates engage the world ready to flourish as global citizens, to assume leadership positions, and to exercise professional adaptability in the face of a rapidly changing world. The School of Humanities and Global Studies is committed to fostering an equitable, diverse, inclusive, and socially just community. The successful candidate for this position will teach undergraduate courses in the Humanities category of the General Education Program (HU). A strong preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach courses designed in ethics or applied ethics. Courses taught serve all UWSP students required to take at least 3 credits of HU. This is a semester appointment up to 12 credits (1.0 FTE). Preferred Qualifications -Earned doctorate in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or related field.
