JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under the direction of the City Engineer and Project Manager the Engineering Tech III will provide technical and para-professional support in the planning, design and construction of the City\'s infrastructure projects. Work involves surveying, field reconnaissance, data acquisition, engineering computations, drafting and design, bidding document preparation, construction staking and inspection. The position will also assist in the preparation of special assessments. Job may also include (as assigned by the Director of Public Works) responsibilities related to the maintenance of traffic signals and streetlights and monitoring and maintenance of the McDill Dam. The position shall be expected to exercise significant independent judgment in solving office and field problems relative to his/her job duties. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or GED with a seven years experience in surveying and engineering related work. Associate degree in civil engineering technology from an accredited two-year technical college with five years of related experience. Bachelors Degree in geography, natural resources, planning or a related field and three years of related survey and engineering experience, or equivalent. Public works construction inspection experience and safe work practices and methods required.
