JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21341 Position Title: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Wildlife TTC Title and Code: Assistant Professor (FA040) FTE: 100% Principal Work Location: UW-Stevens Point Main Campus Supervisor: Brian Sloss, Dean Department: College of Natural Resource Position Summary: The College of Natural Resources (CNR) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month academic year teaching (100%) position in the Wildlife Ecology Discipline. The successful applicant will teach various courses in our undergraduate and graduate programs, including Ungulate Ecology, Wildlife Damage Management, Wildlife Techniques, Management of Wildlife Habitat, and others, depending on qualifications. Additional teaching may include the CNR core curriculum (e.g., Ecological Basis of Resource Management and/or Fisheries, Forestry, and Wildlife). The teaching load for full-time faculty is 12 credits per semester. Teaching at least three weeks during the summer with the Colleges Summer Field Experience (at the Treehaven Field Station or elsewhere) or participating in the International Field Experiences in Natural Resources Management for additional compensation as needed/required. Other duties include advising undergraduate and graduate students and participating in university and college committees. Opportunities exist for involvement in established research, outreach, and international programs to meet University scholarship and service requirements. Experience in and a desire to work with various student learning experiences and backgrounds is expected. Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in ungulate management and ecology. Demonstrated teaching experience in subjects related to wildlife or natural resource management. Demonstrated mentoring of undergraduate students in research and/or career development. Knowledge of wildlife techniques such as population sampling, habitat assessment, or spatial analysis. Post-doctoral or professional experience in wildlife. Demonstrated ability to secure external funding. History of research success as demonstrated by a successful publication record.
