Essential Job Functions:
- Review and follow shop card instructions. Sign each shop card for verification of review. Notify Supervisor or Leader if shop card needs additional information or if it needs to be changed.
- Ensure copies of shop cards remain with and travel with the core/casting throughout the production process.
- Check casting quality continuously and work with supervisors/leaders to correct problems.
- Process sample work as highest priority and maintain proper documentation for future production runs.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the competency training to maintain quality control of processes and products.

``` - Inspects patterns before/during production for missing letters, core crush, missing fillets, damage to the pattern, etc. and notify Supervisor/Leader if any errors are found. - Sets up Rotolift to the job being run. - Sieves in sand from overhead bins into cope & drag and rams and compresses sand for proper hardness (mold hardness of 80 on horizontal walls and 75 on vertical walls) having Supervisor/Leader check periodically. - Sets screens, inserts, cores, chaplets, etc. as required by the shop card. - Ensures correct size sprue and sprue location are on mold and any openings in the mold are cleaned out. - Back prints first mold of each production/sample runs - Maintains accurate record of molds produced & poured.

``` - Inspects patterns before/during production for missing letters, core crush, missing fillets, damage to the pattern, etc. and notify Supervisor/Leader if any errors are found. - Sets up Hunter to the job being run. - Sets screens, inserts, cores, chaplets, etc. as required by the shop card. - Ensures correct size sprue and sprue location are on mold and any openings in the mold are cleaned out. - Checks mold surfaces for proper hardness (80 mold hardness) having Supervisor/Leader check periodically. - Blows out every mold before closing the mold. - Maintains accurate record of molds produced & poured. - Back prints first mold of each production/sample runs - Reloads bottom boards into Hunter.

``` - Green Sand Pourer

``` - Refills Dynarad furnaces with ingot/liquid metal as needed. - Degasses Metal as needed. - Takes a Sample Slug from furnaces and places inside the RATS. - Provides Vacuumed Sample from RATS and gives it to the Sand Lab Technician - Cleans and Paints Ladle and Skimmers with Boron Nitride (Approx. 1/Day) - Retrieves the correct type of metal from furnace with a ladle that has the appropriately colored bale. - Uses a skimmer to remove impurities from the metal in the ladle, dumps impurities into dross barrels. - Skims dross from Dynarad Furnaces as needed and doesn't overfill dross barrels above the top rim. - Places appropriately sized jackets on molds before pouring the mold (if mold needs a jacket) - Places weights on mold if needed. - Carries the ladle to the mold and pours it, always keeping the sprue full. - Dips any open risers/hot sleeve that are exposed to the atmosphere a few seconds/minutes after pouring the mold. - Removes jackets and weights from mold before the mold gets dumped. - Keeps melt deck, tracks, and conveyor system clean of any excess/spilled metal.
- Green Sand Knock Out

``` - Retrieves Castings from Shaker - Operates Pneumatic Dump Gate at the end of the Manual Line to dump molds onto the conveyor belt. - Uses Pneumatic A Frame to remove Cores from Castings - Uses Air Chisel and other Knock Out Tools to assist the A Frame in removing the Cores from the Castings. - Puts broken up Cores into Sand Hopper - Returns Hunter Bottom Boards to the Board Feeder at the Hunter - Examines Castings for defects and tallies efects on the Knockout White Board - Shuts down Sand Conveyor System at breaks. - Places gating and other pieces of metal in correct scrap bins based on alloy.

``` - Retrieves patterns from pattern staging area. - Inspects patterns before production for missing letters, core crush, missing fillets, damage to the pattern, etc. and notify Supervisor/Leader if any errors are found. - Sets up Squeezer/Rotolift Flasks to the specifications on the Shop Cards - Gets and supplies Rotolift & Hunter Operators with the correct size Filters, Chaplets, Chills, and Hot Sleeves if called out on the Shop Card - Gets and supplies Rotolift & Hunter Operators with the correct Core(s) and inserts if called out on the Shop Card - Retrieves and sets up the Rotolift Pressboards
General Functions
- Maintain a clean work area. Verify all tools have been returned to corresponding shadow boards.
- Maintain 6S standards daily including Following End of Shift Cleaning Assignments
- Perform all duties & responsibilities in full accordance with the Company's policies & procedures.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
- Record time and production each day using Shop Floor Manager or Production Sheet. Keep accurate count of castings completed.
- Participate in cross-training when required or requested.
Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety Glasses
- Hearing Protection
- Earmuffs with Earplugs when operating Pneumatic A Frame
- Safety Shoes (in good condition with no holes)
Spats/Safety Kick off Boots when pouring liquid metal.
Safety Rules & Functions:
- Be committed to safety. Do not attempt to perform a function that you have not been trained on. If unsure . . . ASK.
- Follow all rules of the Lockout/Tagout procedures when performing preventive maintenance, adjusting, or assisting with equipment repair.
- Maintain clear aisles (nothing blocking exits, fire extinguishers, etc.).
- Check equipment prior to use and notify Supervisor or Leader immediately if defective.
- Air may not be used for cleaning purposes on equipment, yourself, or others.
- Only approved air nozzles/blow guns with safety tips are to be used. Air nozzles/blow guns are not to be altered in any manner.
- Air powered tools must be disconnected at the end of shift.
- Notify your Supervisor, Leader, or EHS Department when a leak, spill, or other release occurs. Clean up spills and leaks promptly using dry methods (e.g., sand, absorbents)
- Reports any issues with overhead hoists/crane operations.
- Follow all other departmental and plant-wide safety rules.
- Carry out all duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the Company's safety program and procedures.
