BAE Systems Master Scheduler/Planner in Sterling, Virginia

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Master Planner/Scheduler who will be responsible for implementation of project management processes, tools, program planning, and control practices for large IT programs. This position will work within a team environment consisting of program management, technical, production, financial and other supporting staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong teambuilding skills, exhibit strong leadership potential, and possess comprehensive verbal and written communication/presentation skills.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure Project and Program Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, procurement, sub-contracting, material, and quality.

  • Utilize Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and related project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

  • Engage with the Program Team to perform thorough project analysis and identify/implement alternate solutions to enhance cost and schedule performance.

  • Perform schedule risk analyses, and identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts.

  • Contribute to the development of new scheduling concepts, techniques and standards.

  • Provide support to the program office, IPT leads, CAMs and less experienced schedulers to achieve program objectives.

  • Support new business proposals providing recommendations on schedule methodologies and strategies to develop IMP and IMS artifacts.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Management, Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field

  • 6 years of project scheduling experience and proficiency in Microsoft Project or related scheduling tools as demonstrated by an understanding of the tool's properties and functions, including:

  • multi-project consolidation

  • resource allocation and loading

  • inter-project linkage

  • ability to create a variety of views, tables, filters, and reports

  • use of critical path/float analysis

  • use of project baselines to track and analyze schedule changes

  • exports and imports

  • Experience using Schedule Health Analysis tools and Schedule Risk Assessment tools

  • Experience developing a Work Breakdown Structure from program requirements documents such as a Statement of Work (SOW)

  • Working knowledge of EVMS guidelines and processes.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $116419 - $197912

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
