As a Key Account Manager, you have the opportunity to use your creativity and strategic business acumen to find new avenues for current and future sales growth. The ideal candidate will have technical acumen and proven sales and engineering expertise in delivering value to the bottom line. The role will report to the Director of Sales and will be based out of our Sterling Heights, Michigan HQ.

Responsibilities to include: Forecast, develop and execute annual sales plan for assigned accounts for the purpose of increased revenue and profitability. Responsible for the daily commercial sales relationships at assigned accounts - including but not limited to, pricing, margin enhancement, supply agreements, DSO, scrap agreements and other selling activities. Must be able to engage customers across multiple functions. Coordinate with assigned business development personnel to develop and close future program opportunities through coordinated and clear communications. Engage applications engineering when required to support current products, development of future products and programs at assigned accounts. Determine strategic customer accounts with the focus on increasing sales of strategic products. Coordinate with the new business quoting team to provide accurate and timely quotations to customers. Utilize and work closely with sales coordinators and customer service representatives to support customers and operations. Utilize assigned quality department personnel to liaison between customer and operations to resolve quality issues. Act as a liaison between manufacturing operations and customer locations in support of world class delivery and quality. Manage and work with finance on accounts receivable for payment and resolution, as required. Must be proficient in the use of sales tools to support sales activities - maintain weekly calendar, timely submittal of expenses, key account plans maintenance, SF.com CRM tool, and Performance Management. Collect market and competitor information to assist sales management and marketing in strategic planning for the purpose of targeting markets, platforms, specific applications, etc. for growth. Required to have a clear understanding of accounts and territory through continual review of sales reports, budgets, expenses, opportunities, receivables to ensure the revenue and profitability. Other duties as assigned by the manager.

At least 3 years or more of sales management account experience in the automotive market and must possess either: Bachelor's degree or High school diploma/GED with equivalent work experience Contract negotiation experience, preferably with long term agreements Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional/trade publications; establish professional networks and participate in professional societies Decisive and confident with a strong sense of urgency and personal commitment Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work across functional groups Perceived as team player Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and management skills Proficient with Office Suite software and experience with SF.com/CRM tool is a plus Preferred: mechanical knowledge and experience in the fastener industry or related industries (e.g. heat treat, plating, cold forming)

Travel : 25-50% of work time will be spent traveling
