General Dynamics Land Systems Engineering Project Manager in Sterling Heights, Michigan
GDLS is looking to hire a Product Manager in the USMC Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle systems engineering organization. The Engineering Product Manager is a leadership position responsible for providing organization, direction and guidance to a cross functional team across the GDLS organization. The selected candidate will be required to manage cross-functional technical scope within schedule, budgetary and technical constraints. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities: Possess, understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of project management to plan and execute engineering projects Generate and execute project plans and integrated schedules Establish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scope (eg, BCRs, WADs) Forecast and maintain project manpower demand file Establish & utilize metrics to drive and monitor project performance Facilitate and support technical and programmatic events Lead vehicle system-level design, integration, build, and test activities Represent the project and engineering organization to GDLS leadership and our customers Prepare bids and provide bid support for any applicable RFI or proposal efforts Serve as a primary technical interface for internal & external customers
Requirements: Minimum of Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience. 5 years of relevant work experience Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships Demonstrated ability to form and lead teams Experience in leading design, development and integration of complex systems Proven leadership skills and competencies Ability to assess technical risk and develop corrective actions and/or mitigation plans Must have excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills Must have strong oral and written communication skills Must have excellent business acumen and negotiating skills Ability to travel as needed This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
