Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

Implement improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data. Lead problem-solving initiatives to resolve equipment performance issues. Troubleshoot machinery, robots, automation, and controls issues to minimize downtime. Coordinate project installations and reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements. Assist in the integration of controls into IT systems like FIS, Error Proofing, QWX, and QTS. Provide training to manufacturing personnel and plant electricians, and maintain program backups for machinery and automation.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in STERLING HEIGHTS, MI.

Work Environment

Sterling Axle Plant. Candidates will work 12-hour shifts starting at either 5:00 am to 5:00 pm or 5:00 pm to 5:00 am. Shifts will rotate between morning and night every 3-4 months with at least 1-month notice before the change. The schedule will alternate between 3 days (36 hours) one week and 4 days (48 hours) the next.
