ASRC Federal Holding Company CDL-B Driver Part time On-call in Sterling Heights, Michigan

ASRC Federal Professional Services (AFPS) is a premier provider of technical and mission-oriented services with contracts supporting federal government agencies and the US Army. Our team of professional management and technical personnel allows us to bring real-world experience to meet the growing demand for innovative solutions to complex military ground vehicle challenges. This is an exciting time for ASRC while we innovate and integrate legacy vehicles with new technology and test future military vehicles for the next generation of soldiers.

The US Army is currently in the process of exploring the insertion of autonomous/self-driving vehicle technologies to automate their ground equipment supply chain. By converting material, fuel and equipment transport trucks into robots, Army leadership expects to reduce the need for soldiers to be put in harm's way. ASRC Federal Professional Services is currently seeking candidates with at least a CDL-B who can test drive military trucks and provide some preventative maintenance (PMCS) support for the vehicles assigned to them (candidates can be trained in PMCS if necessary). Military experience is preferred, but not required. The vehicles are prototype, self-driving or autonomous military transport trucks and drivers are expected to assist US Army Engineers in the evaluation of these new technologies. The work is cyclical, it's not full time work. We are looking for CDL drivers that are comfortable working in a part time, on call situation. When we have test driver work, it can be for several months at a time at military bases across the country. This is a unique opportunity to experience working in a military research and development environment, in a position uniquely suited to helping obtain valuable experience in emerging autonomous vehicle technologies. The work is dedicated to advancing technology in ground vehicle systems and promoting future survivability for our troops.
