Join a dynamic group of software engineers responsible for the design, development and integration of embedded software solutions for the world's premier land-based combat vehicle producer.The Advanced Capabilities Development team is part of the Advanced Products & Technologies (APT) group at GDLS. Our mission is to investigate, develop, and demonstrate advanced capabilities for the next generation of vehicle platforms. The team works as part of a cross-functional team with responsibility and authority to deliver key vehicle electronics and software products with the goal of integrating and testing them at the subsystem and vehicle level.

Responsibilities to Anticipate: Lead requirements development, design and development efforts regarding a mix of advanced capabilities, including but not limited to: Controller Development Subsystem Control Requirements Advanced Algorithm Design Work with vendors/partners to integrate functionality of their systems/subsystems seemingly onto GDLS platforms. Understanding of feature/systems requirements and the ability to translate the requirements into validation test procedures and use cases. Provide direction for team members including technology roadmaps and mentorship. Generate documentation, software code and other artifacts for technology transfer to production programs. Participate in internal and customer demonstrations. Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, operational performance requirements, and design of the overall system. Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and assess solutions to defects. Conduct research and evaluation of emerging techniques regarding software architectures, methodologies, and integration strategies Position Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Controls or related technical field A minimum of 5 years of related experience Strong background in modeling and simulation Strong background in model generated coding applications, i.e. Matlab/Simulink Be comfortable supporting integration issues in a lab and on a vehicle.
