General Summary:

Under general supervision of the Member Business Services Representative II, but in compliance with the Credit Union policies and procedures, assists in the daily activities involved in the operation of the Member Business Services Department. The successful candidate develops and maintains relationships with Member Business ("MB") account holders.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represents the Credit Union in a courteous, engaging, professional manner and provides excellent member service to both members and internal teammates. Understands the impact of behavior and performance on the credit union, the members, potential members, and teammates.

  • Provides accurate information to members regarding Credit Union business and personal products, services, policies, and procedures. As appropriate, advises businesses of regulations applicable to these policies and procedures.

  • Interviews business and member applicants, gathering the required information for the correct type of membership application.

  • Ensures accurate completion of forms and processing of business/member accounts, including savings, checking, money market, and CDs. Initiates and processes request for direct deposit, ACH loan payments etc.

  • Requests required documentation for business account modification; modifies accounts according to policy.

  • Responds to business member and member SEG inquiries regarding credit union services and/or account issues. Work with various support departments to arrive at acceptable solutions to resolve business and SEG account disputes.

  • Identifies cross-sell opportunities for member and MB account holders including outbound relationship building initiatives.

  • Work closely with Member Business Services Representatives, VP of Business Services, Branch, and Contact Center staff.

  • Works with other team members towards the attainment of branch/organizational goals, in addition to their assigned goals.

  • Complies with all applicable Rules, Regulations and Statutes of the NCUA and other appropriate governing bodies to include but not limited to: Credit Union Bylaws, Credit Union Code of Conduct, Credit Union Employee Handbook, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Act, Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, and Fair Credit Reporting.

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Required Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One-year experience in a financial institution opening new accounts required.

Skills: Efficient, attention to detail, and results driven. Basic math skills required. Experience with basic PC applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of financial products, policies, and procedures.

Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Possess excellent conversational, active listening and interpersonal skills to build member relationships. Deals effectively with members and all levels of staff. Comfortable engaging with people from a wide variety of cultures and economic backgrounds.
