Job Description

Supervises and coordinates the shift operations and staff of the Sleep Center.

Job Responsibility

  • Promotes Sleep Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.

  • Leads the activities of assigned Sleep Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.

  • Participates in the development of strategic goals and objectives; assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of operating policies and procedures.

  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and oversee preventive maintenance of equipment; monitors supplies inventory levels.

  • Performs scoring of Polysomnography studies; oversees procedural protocols to ensure accurate polysomnographic data.; oversees technicians to ensure adherence to polysomnographic testing procedures, departmental policies and professional guidelines.

  • Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.

  • Schedules sleep studies and work assignments; performs staff training , implementing rollout of new equipment and conducting continuing education.

  • Performing staff competencies, manage and evaluate direct reports; assists management in administrative duties including training, inventory, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting; oversees infection prevention and compliance with established policies; evaluates and maintaining equipment and supplies at an operational level.

  • Ensures delivery of quality care and promote excellence in the patient experience; handles patient issues and complaints that arise.

  • Coordinates and precepts staff and other student rotations.

Job Qualification

  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • Current License to practice as a Polysomnograph Technologist in New York State, and Current Basic Life Support Professional Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $66,220-$108,180/year
