Borough of State College Security Administrator (IT) in State College, Pennsylvania
The Security Administrator works in a team environment is responsible for safeguarding the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring secure access, and maintaining operational efficiency across all systems, including networks, servers, desktops, and the data center. Work is performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude. This role involves monitoring security measures, implementing best practices, and responding to potential threats, while also supporting day-to-day system and network administration tasks. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in information technology or related field; supplemented by three or more years' experience with computer systems and software; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. This position requires a criminal background evaluation and a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls such as Fortinet, Palo Alto or Cisco ASA.
