GE Healthcare EHS Lead Specialist - Site Leader in State College, Pennsylvania

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Lead Specialist to join our team. The EHS Lead Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and occupational health and safety standards, to create a safe and sustainable work environment. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and support to employees. Candidate will be responsible for departmental operations planning/execution and focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain EHS programs, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and GEHC requirements (OSHA, EPA, PADEP, DOT, HMT, IATA and ANSI).

  • Manage key EHS performance indicators (KPIs) for the site and drive necessary efforts for success.

  • Partner with EHS Business Leadership to ensure compliance and alignment with corporate EHS programs, goals, and direction.

  • Ensure good standing and action plans with GEHC’s Environmental Health & Safety Framework.

  • Engage and influence leadership commitment to EH&S and coach individuals to successfully execute specified EHS priorities.

  • Influence cross functional teams to operationalize and standardize EHS work practices.

  • Lead incident investigations and drive closure of effective corrective/preventive actions.

  • Analyze trends and performance, provide routine feedback, and drive actions to improve performance.

  • Interface with GEHC environmental, health and safety regulatory specialists, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, or closely related degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in successful EHS program implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong knowledge of US EHS related regulatory requirements.

  • Solid understanding of safety standards.

  • Experience with program and project management.

  • Advanced computer skills (knowledge of Gensuite a plus)

  • OSHA VPP experience and/or SGE certification

  • ISO 14001 experience

  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
