Description
We are offering an exciting in-house opportunity for a Paralegal in Palo Alto, California. In this role, you will be tasked with managing detailed case files, handling document requests, administering e-discovery procedures, and assisting in legal research and writing. You will be collaborating with both in-house and outside counsel attorneys, ensuring the smooth flow of information and maintaining compliance with legal standards.
Responsibilities:
• Organizing and keeping track of intricate case files, while ensuring deadlines are met and regular communication is maintained with attorneys.
• Handling requests for records, documents, and other legal information, which includes collecting documents from various departments, reviewing and redacting documents, coordinating with records custodians for declarations and verifications, and maintaining logs of produced documents.
• Administering e-discovery procedures, which involves uploading documents, reviewing documents and conducting searches, issuing legal holds across multiple systems, and managing the legal hold process.
• Assisting attorneys in preparing witnesses for depositions and trials.
• Conducting legal research and drafting letters and other correspondences.
• Reviewing and analyzing legal documents and case materials, and preparing concise summaries of case information, facts, and legal concepts.
• Updating service of process and legal document acceptance guidelines.
• Having a comprehensive understanding of e-filing and court docketing processes in California state and federal court.
• Undertaking other duties as assigned.
Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a paralegal role
• Demonstrated expertise in Calendar Management
• Proven ability to handle and organize Electronic Files
• Experience in managing Discovery Requests
• Proficient in Discovery and formulating Discovery Responses
• Ability to handle e-Discovery and Ediscovery
• Experience with Electronic Discovery procedures
• Familiarity with implementing Litigation Holds
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Familiar with legal terminology and court system
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
