Description

Our client in the Lower Fairfield, CT area has an opening for a Fund Controller. The Fund Controller will manager a team of 5 Fund Accountants and will be instrumental in overseeing the finance function for an Alternative Asset Manager. You will be working closely with the management team to support large, complex transactions and drive strategic initiatives. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the financial integrity and operational success of our business. This is a Consulting to Potential Full-Time Position.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for the Fund, as well as investor and compliance reports.

• Manage the consolidation and reporting processes for the company's real estate investment entities and funds.

• Coordinate with third-party service providers, including tax advisors, accountants, legal experts, and administrators.

• Supervise the auditing processes across the US funds.

• Assist in the preparation of materials for quarterly board meetings.

• Support the fundraising process through the preparation of client RFPs, responding to due diligence queries from prospects, and assisting in negotiations regarding Fund terms.

• Aid in the due diligence process on acquisition targets, focusing on legal and tax structuring and the implementation of structure post-acquisition.

• Contribute to the development of the North American Funds and the management and operations of acquisition structures.

• Identify areas for improvement and automation and implement new financial systems and processes to support growth and scalability.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

• Participate in the hiring, training, and development of the accounting team as the organization expands.
